Recently voted best walking safari in Africa, Africa on Foot offers a unique safari experience where visitors from around the world encounter animals on foot as well as on game drives. Africa on Foot specalizes in Big Five safaris and walking safaris in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve; a wildlife rich region in the heart of the Greater Kruger. The Klaserie shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park which means predators and other wildlife roam freely throughout. On a walking safari guests will be led by experienced and professional game rangers through a wildlife area rich in game including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo as well as hyena, hippo, giraffe, zebra and a whole host of other wildlife.
Day 1
Arrive in Cape Town and be transported to the hotel. Get settled into your home for the next 4 nights prior to your welcome dinner. At dinner you will meet your lead guide and you will be given important information about your time in Cape Town and logistics for the trip. (D)

Day 2
Breakfast will be included at the hotel prior to getting acquainted with scenic historic Cape Town. Today's trip will include a tour of the beautiful city of Cape Town with our knowledgeable and experienced local guide as well as a visit to Table Mountain, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature and a world heritage site. From the top of Table Mountain you will have a spectacular panoramic view of the entire city and its beautiful coastline. (B)

Day 3
Enjoy breakfast before departing on your tour of Cape Peninsula where you will see the beautiful coastline on your ride to the Cape Point nature reserve. Here you will have an opportunity to see the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian oceans as well as time to hike on the nature trails and visit the light house. On your way back to Cape Town, there will be a stop to see the African penguins at Boulder's Beach, a stop for lunch, and a tour of the famous Kierstenbosch gardens. (B,L)

Day 4
Breakfast is served at the hotel before a trip to the world famous Cape Winelands of South Africa. Here you will visit a few choice wineries where you will receive a tour of the facilities and wine tastings. (B)

Day 5
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before being transported to the airport for your flight to Hoedspruit, South Africa. Once in Hoedspruit, there will be a private transfer from the airport to Africa on Foot Lodge where you will have some leisure time prior to your first game drive in the afternoon. After your safari, enjoy dinner at the lodge. (B,D)

Day 6
The day begins with a light morning snack followed by your first walking safari. Tracking the Big 5 and exploring the African Savanna on foot will give you a new experience and impression of the beauty and splendor of this region where the guide and tracker will share their in-depth knowledge of this biome. Exploring the bushveld on foot gives you a sense of being one with nature and reconnecting with her. It truly is a remarkable experience. Enjoy breakfast when you return from safari followed by free time to relax at the lodge and lunch at your convenience. After your free time, you will depart on your second safari of the day. Search the Savanna by vehicle this time as the sunlight slowly dwindles around you. Take in the beauty of the natural environment and sunset prior to returning to the lodge under the moonlit sky. Upon your return, dinner will be served around the glowing fire. (B,L,D)

Day 7
The day begins with a light morning snack prior to your departure on your morning walking safari. Set off on your walk with the rising sun and enjoy a sunrise like no other while in search of the beautiful inhabitants of this region. Learn about tracks and signs of the Bushveld animals not normally seen on a game drive as well get an up close and personal look at the many smaller creatures that play an important role in this ecosystem. Enjoy breakfast when you return from safari and free time at the lodge. After your free time and lunch, you will partake in your second safari of the day. Spend the next few hours on your game drive viewing the majestic animals in their natural setting as well as a spectacular sunset. Upon your return to the lodge, dinner will be served by the fire. Day 8
Prior to you flight to Johannesburg you will enjoy a morning game drive and breakfast. You will spend the night in Johannesburg and depart the next day for Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. (B)

Day 9
Depart Johannesburg early and arrive in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. After settling in your hotel and enjoying dinner, you will enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. (D)

Day 10
After breakfast, visit the stunning Victoria falls on a guided tour. Victoria Falls is considered the largest waterfall in the world based on its combined height and width creating the greatest sheet of falling water. It is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and home to a UNESCO world heritage center. Dr. David Livingstone was believed to be the first European to see the magnificent Victoria Falls in 1855 and since then these falls have become a popular tourist attraction for visitors from around the world. You will have dinner at the hotel later that day. (B, D)

Day 11
Enjoy a day at leisure in Victoria Falls, where you can chose from a wide array of activities on your own expense. You can revisit and explore additional areas of the falls, take a helicopter ride over the falls, go whitewater rafting, go bungee jumping, cultural experience, etc. Breakfast and dinner are included at the hotel. Activities on the leisure day will be for your own account. (B, D)
